<p>भियना, वैशाख २६ । अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय परमाणु ऊर्जा एजेन्सी (आइएइए) ले भेनेजुएलाबाट १३ किलोग्राम उच्च स्तरमा प्रशोधित युरेनियम (एचइयू) संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका पठाउन सहयोग गरेको जनाएको छ। यो संवेदनशील अभियान परमाणु प्रसारको जोखिम घटाउने उद्देश्यले गरिएको हो।</p>



<p>भेनेजुएलाको वैज्ञानिक अनुसन्धान संस्थान (आइभीआइसी) मा रहेको आरभी-१ अनुसन्धान रिएक्टरबाट निकालिएको युरेनियम-२३५ करिब २० प्रतिशत भन्दा बढी स्तरमा प्रशोधित थियो। उक्त रिएक्टर सन् १९९१ देखि बन्द थिए।</p>



<p>गत अप्रिलको अन्त्यतिर काराकसबाट पोर्टो काबेलोसम्म सैनिक सुरक्षा सहित ढुवानी गरिएको इन्धनलाई बेलायती जहाजमार्फत दक्षिण क्यारोलिनाको साभाना रिभर साइटमा पुर्&#x200d;याइएको थियो। मे महिनाको सुरुवातमा सुरक्षित रूपमा पुर्&#x200d;याइएको छ ।</p>



<p>आइएइए महानिर्देशक राफेल ग्रोसीले भने, “यस अभियानले सबै पक्षको दृढ इच्छाशक्ति, प्रभावकारी समन्वय, समर्पण र पेशागत दक्षताको उदाहरण प्रस्तुत गरेको छ।”</p>



<p>अमेरिकी विदेश मन्त्रालयका अधिकारी क्रिस्टोफर टी. यावले भने, यसले साझेदारीमार्फत “परमाणु प्रसारको जोखिम हटाउन र विश्वव्यापी परमाणु सुरक्षालाई मजबुत बनाउन सकिन्छ” भन्ने देखाएको छ।</p>



<p>आइएइएले ढुवानी प्रक्रियामा सुरक्षा निर्देशन, तालिम, प्राविधिक सहयोग र निगरानी प्रदान गरेको थियो। यस प्रक्रियामा भेनेजुएला सरकारले सहयोग मागेको थियो भने अमेरिकाले सामग्री स्वीकार गरी विशेष कन्टेनर उपलब्ध गराएको थियो। बेलायतले समुद्री सहयोग गरेको&nbsp;आइएइएले जनाएको छ।</p>



<p>यो अभियान, अनुसन्धान रिएक्टरहरूबाट उच्च स्तरमा प्रशोधित युरेनियम (एचइयू) हटाउने व्यापक अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय प्रयासको हिस्सा हो। तर अहिले वैज्ञानिक अनुसन्धानका लागि कम स्तरमा प्रशोधित युरेनियम (एलइयू) प्रयोग गरेर गर्न सकिन्छ, जसले परमाणु प्रसारको जोखिम निकै कम हुने बताइन्छ।</p>



<p>आइएइएका अनुसार हालसम्म १११ वटा रिएक्टर वा आइसोटोप सुविधा बन्द वा रूपान्तरण गरिएका छन् । त्यस्तै, ६,९३० किलोग्रामभन्दा बढी उच्च स्तरमा प्रशोधित युरेनियम (एचइयू) विश्वभर पुनःस्थापन वा नष्ट गरिएको छ।</p>
